DisplayPort Trademark Information

The most efficient and effective means to assist customers in identifying DisplayPort enabled products is through branding and trademarks. When used consistently, trade names, logos and icons become a valuable resource in the consumer purchase making decision.

The DisplayPort word mark, figure mark, and combination mark are all trademarks that are owned by VESA and licensed out for use to companies that are incorporating DisplayPort technology into their products. There are three ways to indicate to customers that your product is DisplayPort enabled.

DisplayPort Certified Logo

DisplayPort Certification Compliance Logo

The DisplayPort specification 1.1a defines the product design
targets at the level of interfaces and mechanisms. To complement the specification and enable measurement of compliance in real products, VESA has instituted a Compliance Certification Program that provides reasonable measures of acceptability. Products that pass this level of acceptability are added to the DisplayPort Certified Devices and Components List and have the right to license the DisplayPort Certification Compliance Logo.

VESA also permits news and editorial usage of the DisplayPort word mark and icon without license. We encourage the proper usage of our marks as it relates to distinguishing DisplayPort technology from other technologies. Email Brian Eble to request the DisplayPort trademarks.

Because the DisplayPort word mark and icon refers to the DisplayPort specification 1.1a, consumers should look for the DisplayPort trademarks on product packaging and in marketing materials when buying products that are DisplayPort enabled. Consumers should also verify that their product is properly authorized to bear the DisplayPort marks by purchasing products from companies listed on the DisplayPort Certified Devices and Components List.

If you have purchased a product that only bears the DisplayPort Certification trademark or from a company that is not listed in on the DisplayPort Certified Devices and Components List, please report a trademark violation to:
